Experience, skills and competencies that lend themselves to this role:

The Associate Scientist Analytical Development with supervision from the Manager Analytical Development or Research Scientist is responsible for performing extensive laboratory work to support analytical method development, validation, method transfer, clinical sample testing, cleaning validation sample testing, physical testing and characterization of developmental formulas for Sun care and other Derma topical formulations. Other support functions include: responsible person to ensure equipment maintenance and calibration performed, analytical method development, validation, method transfer.

The successful incumbent ensures the analytical testing procedures are safe, effective, and compliant.

Major responsibilities:
  • Developing and evaluating analytical methods, providing analytical support for new product development.
  • Implementing analytical testing procedures for early prototypes, informal stability, process optimization, clinical sample testing and cleaning validation sample testing required in support of new product development.
  • Designing, implementing and interpreting complex laboratory experiments in a fast-paced environment.
  • Generating accurate scientific analytical data.
  • Supporting and /or conducting investigations.
  • Accurately interpret, document and enter results into the LIMS database.
  • Writing analytical test methods, method development reports, method validation protocols, method validation reports.
  • Assisting with troubleshooting analytical methods.
  • Compiling accurate scientific data in various reports, or other documents.
  • Responsible for accurately reviewing scientific data to ensure compliance with all requirements.
  • Thorough knowledge of analytical instrumentation (HPLC, GC, AA, IR, UV-VIS) and wet chemical techniques with strong focus on HPLC.
  • Use and familiarization of various types of software including Word, Empower software, and Excel spreadsheets.
  • Solid background in chemistry and good problem-solving skills.
  • Capable of communicating effectively and collaborating with other scientists within the group, cross functionally and across sites.

The Associate Scientist Analytical Development is responsible for supporting new product development with analytical method development and testing. Has working knowledge in stability testing. The position interacts closely with the sun care formulation development and process scientists to provide physical testing and characterization of new developmental formulas leading to novel new products for sun care and other topical derma formulations

Qualitfications:

O A Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or international equivalent with 1 or more years of experience.

O A Master's degree in Chemistry or international equivalent with 1 or more years of experience.

O A Ph.D. in Chemistry with postdoctoral or international equivalent

O PC Applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

O Demonstrated ability to manage multiple and competing priorities.

O Strong interpersonal skills.

O Highly demonstrated organizational skills.

O Ability to work with employees at all levels within organization.
