The Optum at Home Stars Pharmacy Team provides a variety of services including United HealthCare at Home (UAH) strategic Medication Adherence outreach initiatives, Care of Older Adults (COA) medication reviews/health assessments, CAHPS focused member outreach, provider statin outreach (SUPD/SPC), and provider Polypharmacy outreach (COB and Poly COB) . The team also supports APC providers via a clinical consultation service. All services are provided by a team of Clinical Pharmacists, with the support of Pharmacy Technicians, that engage with plan members and their healthcare providers in a telephonic environment.

The Clinical Team Manager (CTM) will report to the Director of Stars within the Clinical Excellence department. The CTM directly supervise a team of about 15 to 20 clinical pharmacists as they perform clinical consults with members of the UAH program. They will be responsible for implementing daily workflow assuring we are staying on target for our yearly Stars goals for all metrics, ultimately helping our plans try to achieve 4 and 5 stars. They will be engaging and coaching their team members to meet or exceed established productivity and quality metrics. The CTM will work with their direct reports to 'Deliver Quality, the First Time, Every Time' and set development goals and assist with developing future talent. They will be integral in identifying, hiring, and onboarding new talent for our team as we expand our model of care. They will stay engaged throughout the process, helping the department reach the yearly goals together as a team

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Leading and implementing day-to-day workflow priorities
  • Developing staff. Drive employee engagement across the team and the department
  • Hiring and onboarding of new team members
  • Managing the team members' day-to-day activities, to guide all team members to achieve or exceed production and quality metrics
  • Coaching and performance improvement plans for team members who fail to meet established metrics
  • Assist with various projects with the Program Management, Account Management, Quality, and Operations teams to improve program performance
  • Lead training programs related to Productivity, Quality, Health Literacy, and Medicare Stars/HEDIS initiatives
  • Working with Pharmacy Senior Leadership to adapt team plans and priorities to address business and operational challenges
  • Communicating organizational priorities and vision to team members

Required Qualifications:



  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree or equivalent experience
  • Active, unrestricted pharmacy license
  • 5+ years of Clinical Pharmacy Practice experience
  • 2+ years of Call Center experience
  • 1+ years of management experience (or equivalent senior clinical pharmacist experience)


Preferred Qualifications:



  • MBA/MPH Degree
  • Active, unrestricted pharmacy license in one of the states considered as Restricted (ID, KY, LA, MD, OR, TN, MD)
  • Board certification by the Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS)
  • Certified Geriatric Pharmacist
  • Experience with Medicare STARs & HEDIS Measures
  • Ability to manage multiple complex, concurrent projects
  • Medication Therapy Management (MTM) Experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and relationship building skills
  • Ability to work independently, as well as a member of a team
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Bilingual in Spanish, Mandarin/Cantonese, Korean, or Vietnamese

The salary range for this role is $106,800 to $194,200 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
