Summary of Job Duties:The Payroll Services Coordinator is responsible for accurately processing payroll for employees and ensuring compliance with all payroll laws and company policies. They maintain employee payroll records, handle wage garnishments, deductions, and benefits contributions, and respond to employee payroll inquiries. They also coordinate with HR and accounting departments, prepare payroll reports, and assist with audits and year-end tax filings.

Typical Functions:

Process payroll on a regular semi-monthly schedule.

Enter and audit employee data (new hires, terminations, direct deposit information, tax information).

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws.

Handle deductions like benefits, garnishments, and retirement contributions.

Resolve payroll discrepancies and answer employee payroll questions.

Coordinate with HR and Finance to ensure accurate timekeeping and benefits reporting.

Prepare payroll reports for management and assist with financial audits.

Maintain confidentiality of employee and company information.

Recommend process improvements to make payroll operations more efficient.

Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • 1 - 3 years of payroll experience.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage confidential information responsibly
  • Good organization and time management skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools
  • Customer service mindset.
  • Proficiency in Workday and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with payroll software (like ADP, Paychex, or Workday).
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) from the American Payroll Association or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC).

Additional Information:

Salary Information:

$40,000.00 - $45,000.00
