Job Summary

Manages and coordinates all interior design work to include client contract, scope development, interior design, consultant management, and interior construction inspections for moderate to complex projects. Collaborates with Project Manager for budgeting and scheduling phases of a project. Performs interior design for Corewell Health construction projects as necessary.

Essential Functions
  • Completes interior design documents using computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) when appropriate for preliminary and schematic plans, construction documents, and specification of materials and equipment.

  • Functions as a project team leader for selected projects, coordinating work with design staff, design consultants, calling meetings, setting deadlines and serving as major contact for clients. Writes meeting minutes to support project decisions.

  • Responsible for the design management (directing, coordinating and review/approval) of professional interior design consultant services, including the review of plan/program documents, designs, construction bid documents (drawings, specifications, and estimates and project budgets).

  • Reviews and approves the work of consultant interior design firms and other specialty consultants in the preparation of studies and design/construction documents.

  • Functions as an interior design consultant to all departments, units and other staff with regard to planning of renovations and additions. Provides input into feasibility of initiating various construction and renovation projects as required.

  • Assists in planning and layout of space programs, preliminary plans, and alternate design schemes for a variety of renovations and/or new construction.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree Interior Design or equivalent years of education, training, and experience

  • 3 years of relevant experience contract interior design

  • LIC-Driver's License - STATE_MI State of Michigan

  • CRT-Contract Interior Designer, Certified - NCIDQ National Council for Interior

Preferred

  • Experience in health care environment
