Responsibilities

In this position you will have the opportunity to lead, manage, and develop our private and public transportation engineering projects and WGI staff.

    Preparation and review of Traffic Impact Analyses (TIA).
  • Representation at Public Hearings to support TIAs.
  • Conducting traffic signalization, Signing and Pavement Marking, ITS and safety technology designs.;
  • Investigate accident data and evaluate changes to improve traffic safety and operations on existing roadways.
  • Improvement of safety for bicycle and pedestrian facilities on roadways or stand alone trails.
  • Preparing engineering reports to document the findings and recommendations of traffic engineering;
  • Conducting field reviews to identify safety and operational issues;
  • Developing improvements to enhance safety and traffic flow;
  • Preparing conceptual improvement drawings;
  • Work collaboratively with other engineering disciplines, and remote staff to deliver work products on time, within budget.
  • Manage staff including other traffic engineers on the above services.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineer License preferred or working toward certification.
  • Knowledge of FDOT's policies/procedures related to traffic engineering and familiarity with associated reference manuals such as MUTS Manual, Traffic Engineering Manual, Highway Capacity Manual, MUTCD, and Highway Safety Manual, etc.;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
