As a Patient Care Assistant, you'll be a vital part of the healthcare experience-interacting directly with patients and collaborating closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and nursing staff to ensure every visit runs smoothly.
What You'll Do:
Welcome and interview patients to collect medical information, vital signs, weight, and height.
Guide patients to exam rooms and prepare necessary equipment to support healthcare providers.
Accurately document medical histories, vital stats, and test results in electronic health records.
Perform general administrative tasks such as answering phones, completing forms, and coordinating appointments.
Act as a friendly and helpful liaison between patients and departments, always with a customer-first mindset.
Collect and prepare lab specimens (blood, tissue, etc.) for testing, ensuring proper handling and logging.
Maintain clean, well-stocked exam rooms and sterilize instruments according to health and safety standards.

Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent required

Licenses and Credentials

  • Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] - American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Certified Medical Assistant [National Certification] within one year
  • Emergency Medical Technician - Basic NH and National Certification

Experience
Direct MA experience or medical field work 0-1 year preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for success in this position.
- Ability to prioritize tasks in complex and busy environments.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Comply with all local, state, and federal privacy and confidentiality rules and regulations.
- Ability to take vital signs and manual blood pressure, as well as collect blood samples and other specimens.
- Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and protocols.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical office software.
- Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
- Managing one's own time and the time of others.
