Insurance Team Intern - Summer 2025

Join our Insurance Division as an Insurance Intern and gain valuable hands-on experience in a professional office environment. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to learn the fundamentals of client service, administrative operations, and insurance processes. As a key support team member, you'll engage directly with customers, assist with claims and CRM data entry, support internal teams with scheduling and clerical tasks, and gain exposure to a variety of insurance products. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


  • Responsible for answering and accurately directing phone calls positively & professionally.
  • Greets customers and establishes a high-quality service environment by displaying a friendly and courteous attitude and using the customer's name at least once during the conversation.
  • Responsible for receiving customers' questions and concerns, gathering information from the customer, and relaying that information as a liaison with other departments. Follow through to ensure customers' issues were resolved.
  • Opens, sorts, separates, and scans mail accurately for the agency personnel according to mail distribution workflows.
  • Actively seeks out and performs other agency services support functions and performs clerical duties, as requested, or required by others, such as copying, filing, scanning, or faxing.
  • Provide administrative support to various officers within the Insurance division.
  • Assist various division leads with scheduling meetings in person and/or zoom as well as coordinating travel arrangements as needed.
  • Assist our customers with claim reporting to their respective carrier at time of a loss; as well as creating the claim record within EPIC.
  • Ensure contact information is current within EPIC and CRM, obtaining email addresses and cell phone numbers as needed.
  • CRM Administration duties as assigned.
  • Actively seeks out and maintains basic product knowledge of all the insurance lines that we service. This knowledge may be obtained through training courses, monthly meetings, carrier communication and corporate communications, etc.
  • Identifies sales opportunities and makes referrals to appropriate sales staff.
  • Collaborate and assist Insurance Operations Administrator with supply ordering for organization as needed.
  • Keeps the workroom/conference rooms neat and in order, including end of day tasks such as cleanup, lights, etc.
  • Maintains professional appearance and conduct within the guidelines set forth in the Employee Handbook.


Education:


  • High school diploma required
  • Be enrolled in a college or university, preferred Junior or Senior standing.


Experience:


  • Minimum of six months customer service experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous customer service experience of at least six months preferred


Skills:


  • Proficient in usage of Microsoft Office software, especially Excel, Outlook and Word.
