Student Financial Services

Job Description

The Financial Aid Processor supports the administration of student financial aid by performing accurate and timely processing of aid-related documentation. This role is responsible for handling a variety of financial aid operations such as verification of student files, loan processing, and the administration of athletic scholarships, federal work-study, and state aid programs. The Financial Aid Processor ensures compliance with institutional, state, and federal regulations while delivering high-quality service to students and families.

Key Responsibilities may include:

  • Verification Processing: Review and evaluate financial aid documentation such as tax returns, W-2s, and household information for federal verification; update student records accordingly
  • Loan Processing: Certify and manage federal and private student loans, ensuring timely disbursement and compliance with state and federal loan regulations
  • Athletic Scholarships: Assist in the coordination and processing of athletic scholarships, ensuring alignment with NCAA and institutional guidelines
  • Federal Work-Study: Process student employment documentation, monitor award balances, and coordinate with departments to ensure accurate tracking and reporting of work-study earnings
  • State Aid Programs: Review eligibility and process awards for state-funded programs; ensure students meet academic and residency requirements; report enrollment and award data to state agencies
  • Maintain and update student records in the financial aid system, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance
  • Respond to inquiries from students, families, and campus partners regarding the status of aid, documentation needs, and program requirements
  • Collaborate with financial services counselors and other departments to support students throughout the aid process
  • Assist with file audits, reconciliation processes, and institutional or federal reporting as needed
  • Perform related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred skills/abilities of candidates: Experience in a financial aid office with some knowledge of Title IV regulations is preferred. Ability to interact professionally with diverse personalities is requested. The successful candidate should demonstrate exceptional customer service as well as interpersonal and communication skills (knowledge of PeopleSoft and the Microsoft Office Suite a strong plus.)

Anticipated Hiring Range

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $18.61-$22.24 hourly.

Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
