A.I.S., Inc. (AIS) is a national scientific services firm supporting maritime activities requiring certification of compliance with environmental regulations as well as collecting data for use by Federal, State, Municipal, and other government agencies along the US coastline. AIS is seeking a Fisheries Management Consultant to review how other U.S. regional fishery management councils streamline the integration of new scientific data into federal fishing regulations, in compliance with the Magnuson-Stevens Act and related laws. Primary Function: AIS is seeking a qualified candidate to evaluate and recommend improvements to regulatory processes to enhance responsiveness to emerging scientific data and environmental changes affecting Gulf fisheries. The successful candidate will assess existing framework procedures and explore how other regional fishery management councils implement streamlined regulatory approaches, particularly under the Magnuson-Stevens Act and NEPA. Duties/Responsibilities: Review and report on relevant regulatory processes and their underlying data. Anticipated work products should include but not be limited to the following:
Compensation: Candidates will be paid an hourly rate to be negotiated, and total compensation will vary depending on the candidates' depth of experience. This is a full-time position.
