Job Description

Position Summary:

Working with minimal supervision, a level two NDT Tech will be able to setup and execute full NDT inspection processes. This includes equipment checks and basic maintenance and performing full NDT inspection tasks. A level two NDT Tech will be certified internally and externally and will demonstrate the ability to identify non-conforming product and begin the NCR process (Non-Conforming Report).

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Inspection Equipment & Tools
    • Proper use of basic measuring tools
    • Basic / intermediate computer skills for applications required
    • Read and interpret basic NDT related items on a blueprint / specification
  • NDT Area Operations
    • Intermediate knowledge of calibration procedures
    • Intermediate knowledge of FPI processing / inspection procedures
    • Intermediate knowledge of MPI processing / inspection procedures
    • Record inspection records in the NDT database
    • Train and direct level one and trainees
    • Understand and follow customer / industry standard / company acceptance criteria
    • Create processing instructions as needed
    • Can access and understand NDT techniques and specific instructions
    • Conduct system performance checks at appropriate intervals
    • Set up and standardize equipment.
    • Assist in basic maintenance and upkeep of the area and equipment
  • Internal NDT certification requirements
    • Complete FPI classroom & OJT level two training
    • Complete MPI classroom & OJT level two training
    • Complete FPI level two assessment
    • Complete MPI level two assessment
    • Accurate documentation of training hours
  • Quality & Productivity
    • Interpret and evaluate for acceptance or rejection, and document results
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

  • Read and write English
  • Intermediate NDT processes and procedures
  • Pass eye exam (Near and color vision)

Required Experience:

  • 2-3 years of experience (Hours Based)

Level of Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED desired but not required
  • Level One Certification per NAS 410
