Description

The Shipping & Receiving Clerk I will receive, check, store, issue and ship inbound/outbound materials from the warehouse.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • * Adhere to plant and corporate safety policies.
  • * Assist in other areas or perform other duties as required by fluctuating business needs.
  • * Assures shipping counts match packing documents and assists in resolving any discrepancies.
  • * Follows processes, work instructions, MSP's and other written and/or verbal instructions.
  • * Identify and help resolve discrepancies between receipts and documentation.
  • * Pack customer goods according to customer expectations.
  • * Receives and unpacks deliveries of customer product.
  • * Recognize gross defects in customer product.
  • * Verifies proper count and content of deliveries against packing slip.


ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • * Maintains a neat and orderly work area.
  • * May help expedite orders.
  • * May load/unload trucks manually or with powered lift / forklift.
  • * May operate precision measuring instruments and record results.
  • * May process shipping orders by withdrawing from stock, weighing, packing and labeling materials for shipment.


EDUCATION, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and minimum one year manufacturing experience.

BASIC SKILLS:

* Ability to clearly communicate with co-workers and supervisors.

* Ability to comprehend written and verbal instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

* Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

* Ability to distinguish between the colors of red, orange, yellow, blue, green and violet.

* Ability to perform basic math functions.

* Ability to read at a 20/20 visual acuity using a Jaeger eye chart (near vision) with or without vision correction. Able to read No. 1 at 14" distance, or No. 2 at 20" distance, or No. 3 at 24" distance.

* High degree of manual dexterity and hand-to-eye coordination.
