POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:

The incumbent assists the local Safety Director by helping to disseminate the details of the Company's Hearts & Minds safety program both internally and externally on assigned projects. This role helps to orient new employees on safety culture, implements the principles of the safety program on all Company projects, and collaborates with local project leadership teams to keep safety front and center in daily operations.

Hourly rate of $21/hr

KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Assists with worksite inspections to identify, escalate, and/or mitigate safety concerns.
  • Helps track all jobsite safety audits, toolbox talks, huddles, and daily/monthly paperwork.
  • Assists with equipment tracking, hazard analysis, and incident/accident/near-miss investigations.
  • Analyzes training records to determine whether training needs exist.
  • Updates Safety Data Sheets (SDS) per OSHA and project requirements.
  • Participates in new hire orientation (onsite) and ensures new hires are provided with proper safety gear.
  • Learns and presents portions of the Hearts & Minds safety program during new hire orientation.

      WORK ENVIRONMENT:



      • This position operates primarily in an office environment, and routinely utilizes standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, copiers, and printers.
      • Work duties may also necessitate visits to/walk throughs of local job sites, which means intermittent exposure to outside weather and conditions/hazards typically associated with a construction site.


      PHYSICAL DEMANDS:



      • In performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, perform repetitive motion, and possess an appropriate degree of both visual acuity and manual dexterity.
      • This is considered a sedentary position, which means possible exertion up to ten (10) pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.


      TRAVEL:



      • There is no travel required for this position.


      MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:



      • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel in particular).
      • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local building codes and construction laws.
      • Ability to effectively interact with diverse employee and client populations.
      • Strong written, verbal, analytical, and problem solving skills.


      PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:



      • College student pursuing a degree in Occupational Safety & Health or a related field.
      • Current OSHA 30 Hour Card.
