Assemble a variety of sub-assemblies and bench or floor erection to complete unit.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Ability to handle light and average weight parts.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools.
  • Ability to select assembly method and erection procedure.
  • Ability to accurately align sub-assemblies to unit.
  • Ability to mount and connect auxiliary, mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic or hydraulic equipment.
  • Ability to assemble a variety of products.
  • Ability to fit parts to close tolerances.
  • Ability to pack parts/equipment.
  • Must be mechanically inclined.
  • Must understand Kanban
    • Use Kanban cards to reorder parts
  • Ability to listen and learn from instructions, cooperate and participate in the department's training program
  • Ability to climb step ladder
  • Ability to adapt to changing responsibilities
  • Ability to participate in 6S
  • English Comprehension
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Physical Awareness: Ability to work in an environment with active fork trucks.
  • Ability to lift arms/hands over one's head
  • Manual Dexterity: The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp and assemble objects.
  • Arm-Hand Steadiness: The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position.
  • Finger Dexterity: The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects.
  • Near Vision: The ability to see details (and colors) at close range
  • Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time
  • Ability to move up to 2,000 lbs of equipment using pallet jacks, dollies, and overhead cranes.
  • Ability to assemble objects in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules
  • Ability to follow standardized processes.
  • Ability to work safely

Salary Range for this position - this is a union position, and the starting hourly rate is $25.40; top rate for position is $27.91 which will be achieved by end of 1 year of service as long as job performance is meets expectations or above.
