Overview

The Senior Technical Accountant will play a key role in ensuring the company's financial statements are prepared accurately and in compliance with U.S. GAAP. This position demands a high level of expertise in technical accounting research, the preparation and review of financial statements, and coordination with external auditors. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage complex accounting issues.


Responsibilities

  • Preparation of Financial Statements: Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements in Workiva, including the income statement, balance sheet, cash flow, and related notes, in accordance with U.S. GAAP;
  • GAAP Disclosure Checklist: Develop and maintain the GAAP disclosure checklist for financial statements to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements;
  • ASC 842 Entries: Prepare entries related to ASC 842 (Leases) and ensure accurate implementation of leasing standards;
  • Lease Accounting System: Coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure the lease accounting system is updated with all new leases and modifications and review the changes for accuracy;
  • Technical Accounting Memos: Draft technical accounting memos related to complex transactions such as Business Combinations, Revenue Recognition, impairment of intangible assets, Derivatives, Debt accounting, and Stock Compensation;
  • Audit Coordination: Support external audit requests and inquiries by coordinating the completion and review of assigned audit requests, ensuring timely and accurate responses;
  • Research on Accounting Matters: Assist in researching non-standard and complex accounting issues including Business Combinations, Segment Reporting, Goodwill, Leases, and more to determine proper accounting treatments as per U.S. GAAP;
  • Implementation of New Accounting Pronouncements: Assess and document the impact of new accounting pronouncements and help implement them across the company;
  • Support the month-end closing process by preparing journal entries related to technically challenging accounting transactions such as leases, debt modification, intangible amortization, etc;
  • Responsible for preparing and reviewing certain key account reconciliations, such as leases, Intangible assets, Goodwill and Pension etc.


Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field;
  • CPA is preferred;
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in technical accounting, preferably in a public accounting firm or a corporate finance department.


Skills:

  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP;
  • Proficient in financial statement preparation and review;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Proficiency in accounting software and tools (e.g., Workiva, SAP and lease accounting systems);
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
