Our team works hands-on with advanced electromechanical systems, supporting everything from routine maintenance to complex troubleshooting and new equipment commissioning. YOUR ROLE:
As an experienced Electro-Mechanical Technician, you'll play a key role in minimizing equipment downtime, executing preventative maintenance, and leading troubleshooting efforts on a wide range of production equipment. You'll work independently while also mentoring junior technicians, collaborating with stakeholders, and supporting equipment upgrades and installations. Your expertise in automation, diagnostics, and mechanical systems will help ensure production stays safe, efficient, and future-ready.

JOB OBJECTIVE: Maintain production equipment to ensure resources are capable and available to production. Improve equipment functionality and production processes. Support the installation and commissioning of new equipment. Assist in training entry-level Electro-Mechanical Technicians.

CORE DUTIES:

1. Analyze and solve most mechanical and electrical issues independently, with guidance available as needed. Exercise judgment in methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

2. Execute preventative maintenance on operational equipment per approved plans. Account for materials used during maintenance. Create work orders for tasks outside of the preventative maintenance plan. Provide feedback to the supervisor on improvement of maintenance tasks.

3. Respond to requests for support in a timely and efficient manner to reduce unplanned downtime. Communicate root cause of failure.

4. Perform complex maintenance tasks, including fabrication, assembly, installation, operation, maintenance, modification, and testing of electrical and mechanical components, apparatus, and equipment. Verify dimensions and clearances of parts using precision measuring instruments.

5. Provide technical and project direction to junior technicians, including standards and specifications. Transfer process and equipment knowledge to manufacturing and junior staff.

6. Coordinate with production and stakeholders to plan and schedule equipment downtime for training, maintenance, and improvements.

7. Read blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and technical orders to determine methods and means to solve problems.

8. Assist in reducing manufacturing costs by identifying and supporting changes to equipment and processes. Coordinate timing and communication of changes with stakeholders.

9. Assist in projects involving new equipment introduction. Assist in developing specifications, installing, and testing equipment.

10. Maintain bill of materials, manuals, and drawings to support uptime and proper machine operation.

11. Work with PLCs, HMIs, robotics, vision systems, sensors, and servo controllers. Test the performance of electromechanical assemblies using test instruments such as oscilloscopes and electronic voltmeters.

12. Demonstrates inclusion through words and actions, creating a safe and respectful workplace.

14. Understands and complies with ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements applicable to the business.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

1. A.S. in Industrial Maintenance, Robotics & Controls Engineering Technology, or equivalent years of experience in equipment maintenance.

2. On-the-job training or experience with Cognex, Fanuc, and Rockwell Automation systems.

3. Flexibility to changing production needs and willingness to adjust work schedule. Must be able to be on-call occasionally.

4. Knowledge and experience in mechanical and electrical theory, mechanics of materials, and automated equipment systems, including PLC programming (Allen-Bradley).

5. Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

6. Good written and verbal communication skills.

7. Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects with supervision.

8. Proficiency in using Windows-based operating systems, spreadsheets, word processing, and SAP.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Experience in an ISO 9000, FDA, GMP, or USDA regulated environment.

2. AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

1. Ability to occasionally move objects up to 100 pounds for up to one hour per day.

2. Ability to work in areas of limited space and varying environmental temperatures.

3. Ability to observe and inspect equipment and operations for proper operation and compliance with safety and housekeeping standards.

4. Ability to work in a production environment around automated equipment.

5. Ability to work in an office environment utilizing a computer workstation.

6. Ability to work in a lab environment with chemical and biological materials.

7. Ability to travel by car or airplane for one or several days to suppliers, equipment vendors, etc.
