Position Overview
Provides technical assistance to operational users concerning development and support of weapon system modifications.
Responsibilities
- Assist the 661 AESS program engineer and 645 AESG program manager with all matters relating to the government's activities as they apply to blending U-28 commercial derivative aircraft into USAF operations at Cannon AFB, NM - Serve as the single point of contact for resolution of all Squadron, Group, and Wing level maintenance, operations, and quality issues related to the U-28 program. This effort encompasses all aircraft and logistics support for the U-28 fleet - Provides 645 AESG on-site implementation, oversight, and dispute resolution for the Special Operations Squadrons QAE program - Provided 645 AESG with program oversight of AM2 maintenance tracking and Big Safari Inventory systems - Coordinates 645 AESG approved Contractor Quality Assessment Surveillance Plan (QASP) and provides training for unit QAEs - Briefs 27SOW and 318SOS leadership on program and status of aircraft as required - Resolves government provided operating support shortfalls/issues as defined in U-28 program support requirements documents - Oversees the maintenance and supply activities for the government at Cannon AFB or other locations as required, ensuring the prime contractor is using internal quality control practices consistent with Federal Aviation Rules and Practices and applicable DOD rules and regulations - 645 AESG representative to 27SOW and 318SOS leadership and AFSOC for all U-28 related Site Activation Task Force and U-28 unit beddown issues - Assist the prime contractor with implementing Reliability and Maintainability database system to include input R&M data into the system, generate reports, analyze, track, and make recommendations upon the compiled database to the 661 AESS program engineer and 645 AESG program managers - Monitor Time Change Technical Order (TCTO) reports in maintenance tracking systems and provide standard reports to 661 AESS program engineers and 645 AESG program managers - Provide the 661 AESS program engineer and 645 AESG program managers with estimates for projected workload requirements due to block or mod updates as required - Tracks and reports aircraft flying hours and vital life cycle information to the 645 AESG and MAJCOM to facilitate fleet management and sustainment functions - Track all service-bulletin and modification efforts accomplished as part of the CLS effort, providing updates to the program engineer and program manager - Provide expertise and guidance in interpreting governmental regulations and internal wing, group and squadron policies - Coordinate efforts with Depot Logistics in support of field sustainment and FOL activation - Identifies/coordinate sustainment requirements for U-28 aircraft at MOB and FOBs - Technical advisor and Big Safari representative for all program Pre-Deployment Site Surveys - Coordinates aircraft schedules, maintenance requirements and modifications with customer, 661 AESS-OL Denver and 645 AESG program manager - Represents Big Safari and prime contractor CLS at all 27th SOW Maintenance and Operations meetings, briefings and conferences - Assist the 661 AESS engineering, quality assurance, logistics and 645 AESG program manager in the periodic reviews and with the program related contractual documents
Qualifications
Required:
Minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree - 6 years with a Master's degree - a PhD with 3 years' experience - or equivalent experience is typically required for an employee at this level
- US Citizen
- Secret clearance
- Familiar with FAA Certificated Aircraft standards
- Ten years experience as aircraft quality manager or related field of expertise
- Extensive active experience in any aircraft maintenance field
- Trained and experienced in technical data evaluation and maintenance
- Working knowledge of Commercial DOD contractors policies and practices
- Working knowledge of U.S. Air Force regulations governing aircraft modifications
- Extensive experience in Aviation Management and Safety programs
- Working knowledge of Project/Program Management processes and tools

- Preferred TS/SCI security clearance
Global Comp
$113,000 - $140,000 This represents the typical compensation range for this position based on experience, location and other factors.
