GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Supply Chain Analyst is responsible for the development, implementation, maintenance and monitoring of the department's computer information system. Acts as a liaison between vendor, Information Technology (IT) staff and departmental personnel. Applies in-depth knowledge of hospital purchasing and inventory control applications to ensure effective and optimal use of current applications, incorporating refinements in applications based on organizational changes or process improvements. Performs analytical functions to produce information necessary for making effective decisions throughout the organization that both inform and drive financial and operational improvement. Participates on project teams as assigned. Trains other users on core Supply Chain systems.

PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. *Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values.

2. *Interfaces with other hospital computer systems to update, verify or merge information; develops, tests, maintains and troubleshoots the department's computer information system modules, tables and databases; monitors system's hardware, software and performance characteristics and notifies vendor/IT of issues.

3. *Communicates and collaborates with system vendors and Bryan Information Technology staff to ensure system effectiveness, compatibility and productivity.

4. Develops policies, procedures and strategies related to the use, rights and responsibilities, access and work flow relevant to Supply Chain, contract and expense management and overall information systems relevant to Materials Management.

5. * Perform maintenance of MMIS item master to ensure integrity of data is maintained in procurement processes.

6. *Completes projects according to established schedules; coordinates all assigned projects and reports on all plans priorities and schedules; informs Supply Chain Director and Managers of status of projects in the form of activity and progress reports.

7. *Coordinates hardware and software enhancements with Information Technology (IT) and vendor as needed; resolves operational problems or contacts vendor/IT for support as needed.

8. Assists with strategic planning and project leadership for the department; participates on assigned committees and teams to facilitate Supply Chain relationships

9. *Anticipates system upgrades, maintenance requirements and inventory budget; provides input into departmental budget preparation and planning process as requested.

10. Researches, develops and maintains a wide variety of data reports for utilization analysis, cost reduction opportunities, and product/service identification and comparison purposes; analyzes these reports and makes recommendations to management regarding identified trends or observations.

11. *Trains new users in the use of system applications and provides functional assistance; acts as primary resource for intra- and inter-departmental users questions and requests; designs and maintains training materials and reference manuals for primary Crystal Report Writer (CRP) system.

12. Attends classes to learn tools for setup and maintenance of new and upgraded software systems; read manuals, periodicals, and technical reports to learn ways to develop programs and other aspects of Supply Chain.

13. *Coordinates month-end system close and follow-up with Management Accounting regarding any errors or problems with the general ledger and accounts payable; reconciles received/not invoiced account monthly and processes monthly reporting.

14. Performs other related projects and duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1. Maintains expertise and competence in the proper operation and optimal use of the Material Management Information System (MMIS).Knowledge of computer hardware equipment and software applications relevant to work functions.

2. Knowledge of the value analysis process and supply expense management principles.

3. Knowledge of accounting and financial reconciliation methods and practices.

4. Skill in the use of report writing systems and Microsoft applications.

5. Ability to analyze problems, propose resolutions and enact timely corrections.

6. Ability to instruct others in computer and software system usage.

7. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

8. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with vendors and unit system users.

9. Ability to prioritize work demands and work with minimal supervision.

10. Ability to engage in problem solving with service personnel, department and hospital personnel and physicians.

11. Ability to perform work effectively under stressful and in emergency situations.

12. Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science or Supply Chain related field required. Minimum of two (2) years experience providing information systems support or Supply Chain experience required. Prior experience using Lawson Materials Management Suite preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

(Physical Requirements are based on federal criteria and assigned by Human Resources upon review of the Principal Job Functions.)
