Overview

Sierra Lobo, offers customers a full range of professional and technical capabilities, including Test and Evaluation, Systems Engineering, and Advanced Technologies. We also develop products and processes related to Cryogenic Fluid and Thermal Management Systems, Densified Propellant Management Systems, and Prototype Extreme Pressure and Temperature Systems. Our customers include the Department of Defense (DoD), the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, Missile Defense Agency (MDA), and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).

This position uses knowledge of bookkeeping in performing the following: posting debit and credit journal entries and assigning proper codes, determining reasons for entry errors and prepare necessary correcting material. On routine assignments established procedures and techniques will be applied.

This position is located at our White Sands Test Facility in Las Cruces, NM.

Responsibilities

1.Collects, maintains, and verifies timesheet data for weekly payroll.

2. Coordinates payroll deadlines with multiple site personnel.

3. Understands, utilizes, and processes/transmits final payroll information to Paycor for processing.

4. Processes approved personnel actions regarding pay, wage rate, hiring, promotion and termination changes through payroll system(s).

5. Prepares and verifies journal entries for payroll.

6. Communicates payroll processes to managers and staff, as needed.

7. Provides payroll accrual and sick leave data for reconciliation with accounting staff.

8. Troubleshoot payroll questions from employees and managers.

9. Answer calls/correspondence related to verification requests for earnings.

10. Daily office tasks such as filing, recording, maintaining records, copying, posting, and other similar duties.



Qualifications

    Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent with at least 1 year of work related experience. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision; typically reports to a supervisor or manager.

    • Payroll processing systems, report management, multiple states
    • Payroll data acquisition
    • Data processing
    • Excel software
    • Microsoft Word
    • General Accounting skills
    • Excellent communication and phone skills
