Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Partnerships Manager at UL Research Institutes, based in our Marietta, Georgia office.

The Partnerships Manager will lead the implementation of research collaborations and agreements with scientific organizations and the development of organizational partnerships for research impact purposes. The Partnerships Manager will work closely with the Director of Partnerships and Outreach as well as external and internal stakeholders to create opportunities for new research, organizational partnerships and thought leadership to further advance CIRI's research and impact mission.

What you'll learn and achieve:

As the Partnerships Manager you will play a key role in the rapid growth of UL as you:

  • Identify and pursue strategic partnership opportunities aligned with the organization's mission, programs, and research priorities.

  • Cultivate and steward relationships with current and prospective partners, including academic collaborators, government entities, and professional organizations.

  • Support the development and implementation of partnership strategies to enhance research impact, visibility, and funding.

  • Collaborate closely with research, communications, and development teams to align partnership goals with organizational priorities.

  • Draft concept notes, proposals, MOUs, and partnership agreements; coordinate proposal development in collaboration with grants and program staff.

  • Track partnership activities, deliverables, and performance metrics; provide regular updates to leadership.

  • Represent the organization at relevant events, conferences, and partnership meetings.

  • Stay current on trends in academic collaboration, and public-private partnerships in the research, professional development, and nonprofit sectors.

  • Lead and or contribute to department or unit initiatives.

Professional education and experience requirements for the role include:

  • Bachelor's degree in scientific, engineering, built environment, or public health discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in partnership development, external relations, or a related role in a nonprofit, research, or mission-driven organization.
