The LATE-TBI Lab at Spaulding Rehabilitation, under the direction of Dr. Daniel Daneshvar, is hiring a Clinical Research Coordinator II to support research on the short- and long-term effects of repeated traumatic brain injuries in athletes. The lab focuses on understanding conditions such as chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), identifying factors that influence recovery and HealthSpan, and developing innovative diagnostic and therapeutic approaches. The CRC II will manage daily research operations across the LATE-TBI Lab and the Rehabilitation Outcomes Center (ROCS), including participant recruitment, data collection, IRB coordination, regulatory compliance, and community engagement. Candidates must have a bachelor's degree, strong organizational and communication skills, and a background in clinical research or public health. Experience in neurology or rehabilitation research is preferred.
Overview: We are recruiting a highly motivated individual with a passion for rehabilitation research to serve as a Clinical Research Coordinator II (CRC II) in the Long-term Assessment and Treatment Exploration for TBI (LATE-TBI) Lab at Spaulding Rehabilitation. The LATE-TBI Lab seeks to understand how athletic exposure to repeated traumatic brain injuries may cause problems both acutely and later in life. Specifically, the LATE-TBI researches the immediate effects of concussions in sports, as well as the long-term effects of traumatic brain injury (TBI), including chronic and neurodegenerative diseases, such as chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). In addition, research seeks to identify factors associated with recovery and HealthSpan following injury. This work aims to bridge the gap between bench and bedside, with the ultimate goal of developing effective treatments for TBI associated disease. We aim to identify novel diagnostic strategies and therapeutic targets to improve the lives of individuals affected by CTE, ALS, and other conditions associated with repeated TBI. The LATE-TBI lab is directed by Daniel Daneshvar, MD, PhD, Chief of Brain Injury Rehabilitation in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Harvard Medical School. The CRC II will be working on several studies within the LATE-TBI Lab as well as at the Rehabilitation Outcomes Center at Spaulding (ROCS), where Dr. Daneshvar serves as Director of Training. The CRC II will be responsible for the day-to-day study operations, including management and oversight of recruitment and data collection activities, preparation and management of IRB actions, data quality assurance, preparation of agendas for meetings, management of regulatory documents, and communication and reporting to PI, study team, and funding sources. More information about the LATE-TBI Lab can be found at https://spauldingrehab.org/research/programs-labs/late-tbi-lab and information about ROCS can be found at https://spauldingrehab.org/research/programs-labs/rehabilitation-outcomes-center.
