Sierra Lobo, offers customers a full range of professional and technical capabilities, including Test and Evaluation, Systems Engineering, and Advanced Technologies. We also develop products and processes related to Cryogenic Fluid and Thermal Management Systems, Densified Propellant Management Systems, and Prototype Extreme Pressure and Temperature Systems. Responsibilities

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision.
  • Interact professionally with other employees, customers, and suppliers.
  • Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations.
  • Comply with all applicable safety- and health-related rules, regulations, and procedures.
  • Work safely themselves and help their teammates work safely.
  • Provide quality analysis of systems and equipment such as, but not limited to, process piping, pressure vessels, relief devices, piping components and structural assemblies.
  • Provide material and system review recommendations for non-conforming product and assist engineering in development of repair and inspection plans.
  • Develop metrics to gauge the status of the quality program.
  • Evaluate, analyze, and provide input for continual improvement initiatives.
  • Evaluate engineering/technical documentation for compliance with existing quality/safety standards.
  • Validate acceptance criteria for products and services.
  • Review documentation technical content for accuracy.
  • Develop procedures and processes to support inspection activities.
  • Communicate inspection findings and observations and provide technical expertise and guidance to personnel of various professional levels.
  • Assist management in the administration of the Safety and Mission Assurance Program.


Qualifications

REQUISITE SKILLS:

  • Experience with government facilities programs desirable but not necessary
  • Excellent time management, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with rocket propulsion desirable but not necessary - willing to learn.
  • The candidate shall have a good command of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint).
  • A working knowledge of the English language is required.
  • The candidate shall be able to operate in a team environment, and shall have good interpersonal, reporting and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Previous relevant experience in a Quality Assurance position performing inspections and oversight in a field and/or fabrication environment utilizing industry Codes and Standards.
  • Previous relevant experience interpreting inspection data, confirming accept/reject status of components (piping, vessels, valves, etc.), and generating or reviewing detailed reports for engineering.
  • Previous experience documenting and generating non-conformances on products, providing material and system review recommendations, and developing repair and inspection plans.
  • Previous experience applying and developing ISO Quality Management Systems type standards and procedures.
  • Previous relevant experience reviewing documentation for technical content, reading and understanding blueprints and schematics, and providing technical expertise to engineering and customers.
  • The candidate shall have the ability to communicate advanced concepts to personnel of various skill and technical levels utilizing excellent written and oral communication skills (must be proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite).
  • The candidate must have proven leadership skills, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of the workforce.
  • The candidate must demonstrate strong analytical skills and have the ability to make decisions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment in order to provide the highest level of timely service to our customers.
  • The candidate may be required to participate in various certification training courses as deemed necessary by the Quality Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • The candidate shall be a US Citizen.
  • The candidate must be able to complete a background check for test complex and facility access.
  • This position typically requires two (2) or more years of college with courses related to Industrial Engineering or Technical Sciences and eight (8) or more years of relevant experience, or any equivalent combination of education/experience for a total of ten (10) years' experience.
  • Position requires comprehensive knowledge of technical expertise gained through work experience in field of specialty.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate both orally and in writing with state-of-the-art technology.
  • Must be able to provide a certified Birth Certificate (with state seal), Passport, or INS Citizenship documents on date of hire (candidate will be sent home if this paperwork is not provided upon arrival on date of hire).
  • Must have, and maintain, a valid driver's license.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Lift minimum of 30 pound load up from the ground frequently
  • Walk six hours per day
  • Bend and stoop six hours per day
  • Work overhead with minimum 20 pound load
  • Push and pull frequently throughout the day
  • Walk up/down stairs frequently
  • Stand seven hours per day
  • Climb ladders and scaffolding
