Salary Range: $116,000 - 129,000

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Estimator III is responsible to oversee, manage, and accomplish the completion of estimates for assigned projects. This could include the oversight of Estimator(s) and Procurement Specialist in support of assigned projects.As Senior Estimator, review specifications, proposals, drawings and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates for ship repair and/or other marine and/or non-marine related projects.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for analyzing technical specifications, drawings, and other data to calculate the cost of a proposed project, including labor, materials, and production time, by creating detailed cost estimates for bids and proposals, often collaborating with engineers and program managers to ensure accuracy and competitiveness in the aerospace and defense industry.
  • Supports proposal development efforts
  • Develops cost estimates for future work in accordance with Vigor estimating policy. Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFARS) and any other applicable regulations
  • Prepares estimates for Change Orders on new and existing projects
  • Supports labor rate analysis and business case development
  • Supports the development of Basis of Estimate (BOEs)
  • Produces labor, material, and subcontractor price estimates
  • Produces craft hours and/or subcontractor hour estimates
  • Supports the development of long lead and critical material list where required
  • Supports the analyses of subcontractor quotes in support of Make/Buy decisions
  • Interacts with Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA)
  • Ensure full compliance of estimates, to include compliance with Truth in Negotiations Act (TINA)

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
None
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Significant experience with FAR and DCAA requirements helpful along with their application to the bid/estimating process.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated command of ProPricer or similar estimating tools

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
  • A minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum ten (10) years of experience in the maritime industry. Must have experience with cost/price analysis, bid analysis and market analysis.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS: None required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position requires that the successful candidate work onsite 5 days per week. The person may be required to be in production areas at times. There may be local travel up to 10% of the time and out-of-town travel (including air travel) up to 5% of the time with notice.
CITIZENSHIP: Pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires US citizenship.
