  • Salary Range - $90,000 to $105,000
  • Location - This is remote worker position with a work location within a 50-mile communizing distance of one of these locations: NAB Coronado, CA; NAWS China Lake, CA; NAS Point Mugu, CA; MCAS Yuma, AZ; Eglin AFB, FL; or JEB Little Creek Fort Story, VA. Travel is required.

Summary: This position provides support to the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD) Digital Precision Strike Suite (DPSS) Development and Sustainment Support Program.

Job Requirements:



  • Develop and deliver training programs on communication protocols, encryption, and system maintenance for military and defense personnel.
  • Assist in the evaluation, testing, and implementation of communication technologies to enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Support mission planning by ensuring reliable and secure communication capabilities.
  • Conduct hands-on troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of tactical radios and networking equipment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, cybersecurity, and operations personnel, to ensure seamless integration of communication assets.
  • Develop technical documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and training manuals.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies, military communication standards, and security protocols.
  • Provide recommendations on system upgrades and procurement strategies based on operational needs.
  • Support military training exercises and test events by ensuring communication systems function optimally
  • Provide assistance in the installation, operation, and maintenance of tactical communication systems, including radios, satellite terminals, and networking equipment.
  • Support troubleshooting and repair of communication equipment in both training and testing environments.
  • Configure and test communication systems to ensure reliability and security in mission-critical scenarios.
  • Assist in training personnel in the proper use and maintenance of communication devices.
  • Support frequency management and encryption key loading for secure communications.
  • Work closely with senior personnel and SMEs to integrate communication solutions into operational planning.
  • Maintain detailed documentation, including equipment configurations, troubleshooting

    procedures, and system reports.
  • Submit on-time deliverables
  • Attend meetings as required.


Qualifications and Certifications



  • Top Secret Clearance, SCI Eligible
  • Must bring subject matter expertise and 8-10 years of experience in tactical communication systems, including Harris Falcon III/VI family of radios, ViaSat TDL radios, and the use of Internet Protocol (IP) technology.
  • SMEs typically perform the following kinds of functions independently:

    • Initiates, supervises, and/or develops requirements from a project's inception to conclusion for complex to extremely complex programs;
    • Provides strategic advice, technical guidance and expertise to program and project staff;
    • Provides detailed analysis, evaluation and recommendations for improvements, optimization development, and/or maintenance efforts for end-user specific or mission critical challenges/issues;
    • Consults with end-users to define need or problem, supervises studies, and leads surveys to collect and analyze data to provide advice and recommend solutions.
