Job Summary:
The Assistant Women's Volleyball Coach reports to the Head Women's Volleyball Coach and will be responsible for coordinating and management of all recruiting for the program. The position will assist in training, video analysis, fund-raising, budget formulation, analysis, and the overall management/leadership of the Women's Volleyball Program.
Specific Responsibilities:
Recruiting
- Coordinate program efforts in recruiting for the volleyball program; identify and contact qualified prospective student-athletes; continue building quality relationships within the volleyball community.
- Implement a system of recruiting that is productive and adaptable to all situations.
Coaching
- Assist the head coach in individual and team training. Have successfully demonstrated the ability to develop technique and systems within a collegiate volleyball program.
- Develop a comprehensive plan to educate the student-athlete in quality decision-making, the value of teamwork and cooperation, and setting/meeting goals and objectives.
- Knowledge and ability to coordinate and manage Data Volley, Data Video, and various video hardware and software.
- Demonstrate the aptitude and skills set necessary to translate statistical and video analysis to individual and team systems.
Administrative
- Must be fully knowledgeable and adhere to all rules and regulations of the NCAA, Big Ten Conference (as applicable) and Northwestern University.
- Work with NUDAR staff in preparing for all home matches.
- Cooperate with the marketing and promotions department in publicizing and marketing the Northwestern Volleyball Program, the booster club.
- Demonstrate the ability to develop precise and accurate scouting reports.
- Coordinate facility scheduling and summer camps.
- Organized and professional in all office matters.
Other
- Responsible for adhering to all Department and University policies and procedures, as well as the rules, regulations, bylaws and interpretations of the Big Ten Conference and the NCAA.
Miscellaneous
Performs other duties as assigned.
Target hiring range for this position will be between $55,000 to $70,000 per year. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree.
- 5-10 years of collegiate or professional playing/coaching experience
Minimum Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities.)
- Willingness and ability to work, as well as travel, mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
Preferred Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities)
- Experience developing, coordinating and managing collegiate clinics, camps and fundraising events preferred.
- Knowledge of rules and regulations of the NCAA, Big Ten Conference and Northwestern University preferred.
- Previous Division I coaching experience preferred.
