Summary:

To serve external customer by shipping out finished goods; to serve internal customers by providing materials to production and distributing items to appropriate person; to verify & accept shipments; to maintain finished goods inventory.

Hours: 7am-3pm Monday Through Friday

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Works safely by reviewing, clarifying, following safety rules/procedures; by handling materials and operating equipment in a safe manner; by enforcing safe warehouse procedures with vendors and associates; by maintaining a clean and orderly warehouse using good housekeeping and 5S practices; ensuring regulatory compliance; and ensuring associates properly disposes of hazardous waste according to state and federal regulations; and removing hazards within job scope, and bringing other safety risks to management. Associate must receive DOT/RCRA training and Dunmore annual hazardous waste training.
  • Ensures quality standards by studying and supporting production schedule; by reviewing and ensuring PO, customer shipping specs, job specs, SMP's and SOPs are met; by supplying materials to production departments to support quality and productivity goals; by verifying & recording inventory transaction, and communicating damaged goods & non-conformances using appropriate processes.
  • Prepares shipments by assembling, packing, protecting, and labeling containers per customer, company, governmental/regulatory, and order specifications. Ensures material is handled appropriately, packaged neatly and safely; by loading and operating stretch wrap machines and forklifts/hand trucks, and preparing all required documents needed for each shipment; records transactions (partial or full orders, quantities, items, etc.) and ensures traceability.
  • Ships orders by verifying accuracy of order & paperwork, preparing orders and documentation for shipping; and arranging for methods of shipment, documenting and maintaining related files; communicating status to appropriate people.
  • Supports production by locating and delivering materials and supplies to operations so productivity and quality objectives are best able to be met; by reviewing production schedule to maintain an orderly and efficient flow; by assisting with operational and quality procedures.
  • Keeps documentation system current and accurate by following standard procedures and/or customer instructions; by recording items/transactions relating to items received, inventory transferred in-house, and shipments out; completes transaction and inventory logs; identifying, recording, and communicating non-conformances and discrepancies; maintains files.
  • Optimizes Warehouse by organizing inventory in most efficient way; utilizes racking system to create optimal space and usage practices; creates systematic approach to locating rolls and supplies; documents location and levels of warehouse/shipping inventory; by maintaining adequate levels of shipping and receiving materials; placing orders as needed.
  • Manages Warehouse vendors and services by receiving and storing new pallets; by monitoring propane tank levels and dumpster levels, and calling for deliveries/pickups; checking delivery commitments, anticipating needed materials; placing and expediting orders for materials; by loading scrap wood trailer; emptying core bins; may be responsible for proper display of flag; may conduct forklift/hand-trucks inspections
  • Supports inventory by verifying receipt of materials; by performing cycle counts and assisting in company planned inventory counts and audits; makes tickets for rolls from both purchased film and COM; maintaining 'down-graded / seconds film' in designated storage rack(s).
  • Takes delivery of and verifies items received by reviewing delivery lists; unloading vehicles; accepting deliveries; unpacking containers, inspecting condition of items, comparing count/measure of items to purchase order and packing list; noting discrepancies; by inputting data into MIS; by storing or delivery received goods.

Education and Experience:



  • Education/Experience- Education as usually obtained from a High School diploma and desire to work with others to achieve common goal, while able to work independently.
  • Demonstrate ability- Proficiently organizing, maintaining and improving inventory, warehouse, shipping and receiving; good understanding and delivery of results expected internally and by customer; receiving process; Must have desire to improve current systems, methods, practices. Must be able to create safe work environment and use related equipment; able to read, follow SOPs and instructions; ability to speak with vendors and customers; and work internally with diverse groups of associates; math skills, use of tape measure, and converting measurements; effective communication skills and detail oriented in documentation.
  • Computer knowledge in fundamental applications with ability to use/learn various computer programs (manufacturing, shipping software, Excel, Word, Access)
  • Expected to - work in team; work to achieve common goal; ability to learn 5S; ability and drive to work in team environment, emphasizing safety, productivity, organization, and improving processes.
