PEMEX Deer Park is a highly complex refinery located 18 miles east of Houston in Deer Park, TX. It is part of the Pemex group, a fully integrated oil company in the Americas, working across the entire value chain: exploration, production, industrial processing/refining, logistics, and marketing. The refinery’s rated capacity is 340,000 barrels per day, and it has the feed flexibility to process multiple grades of crudes to produce the high-quality transportation fuels the world needs. The Pemex site is co-located with other 3rd party chemical facilities, allowing for further integration and optimization of the refinery and its products. As a Refinery Instrumentation Discipline Coordinator, you will ensure the safe, effective, and efficient execution of routine maintenance work scopes by PEMEX and Contractor crafts. You will be responsible for troubleshooting, quality control, and assurance, and planning accuracy while supporting the Area Field Coordinator in field execution. You will build strong relationships with the Production Team, including Technical, Operations, and Maintenance, to ensure the delivery of a reliable and available asset.

 

To succeed as the Instrumentation Discipline Coordinator, you must have:

  • Minimum 10 years of varied experience in Oil Refining or Petrochemical environments, with at least 5 years managing maintenance work.
  • Deep knowledge of Maintenance Execution processes and extensive hands-on experience in Instrumentation discipline.
  • Skilled in GSAP, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), and familiar with Primavera and Impress.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze details, implement improvements, and respond constructively to feedback.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Support AFC in delivering safe, effective routine and emergency maintenance work, including scope validation, material management, and technical support.
  • Promote a strong safety culture by conducting tailgate meetings, reviewing JSAs and permits, auditing safety-critical tasks, and addressing hazards promptly.
  • Develop and validate work scopes/plans in SAP, manage backlog and scheduling efficiency, and ensure post-maintenance quality and documentation.
  • Serve as first point of contact for crafts and operations, troubleshoot issues in real-time, and oversee job site readiness and work progression.
  • Evaluate craft performance, identify training needs, support skills development, maintain documentation, and backfill AFC duties as needed.
