Position Overview

As the Actuarial Director for Finance and Risk in Individual Solutions, you will lead Finance, Actuarial, and Risk Management functions across individual life and individual annuity products. You will drive the analysis and inform management actions to effectively balance risks and rewards for our business across a variety of outcomes, including earnings, capital, expenses, and talent.

This position reports to the CFO of Individual Solutions and collaborates with a variety of stakeholders to deliver financial results, support business initiatives, and incorporate risk management solutions. This role plays an important part in fulfilling our purpose to policyholders and driving business results.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Lead Individual Solutions financials

  • Lead reporting and analysis of financial metrics for Individual Solutions, including quarterly and annual financial reporting for GAAP and Statutory financials, across individual life and individual annuity products

  • Lead annual Goals and Plans efforts to determine strategic objectives, financial targets, and budget needs

  • Evaluate emerging experience and drive management actions to achieve financial targets

  • Provide sensitivities, projections, and other analysis to identify drivers of results and understand emergence of financials under different scenarios

Lead Individual Solutions Risk Management

  • Oversee analysis, monitoring, and management of risks for Individual Solutions

  • Determine risk management processes, including application of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) policies for Individual Solutions

  • Ensure alignment of risk appetite with business strategy

  • Oversee ALM and hedging operations

Drive Individual Solutions strategic objectives

  • Develop and coach associates, creating an outstanding team

  • Support business strategy development, execution and benefits realization

  • Communicate results, emerging trends, and recommendations to management and key stakeholders

  • Represent Individual Solutions on enterprise initiatives and forums

The estimated base pay range for this job is:

$145,000.00 - $267,000.00

Pay may vary depending on job-related factors and individual experience, skills, knowledge, etc. More information on base pay and incentive pay (if applicable) can be discussed with a with a member of the Securian Financial Talent Acquisition team.
