STV is looking to hire a West Coast Area Manager to drive growth, market diversification and provide exceptional leadership to this exciting expansion for the Buildings Group.

As the Area Manager, based in Los Angeles, CA, you are the highest-ranking executive of STV's Buildings Group for your region. Your performance creates a vibrant, growth-oriented, collaborative, and robust business that is seen as an active member of the communities in which you operate, a trusted advisor to your clients, a valued teaming partner, a leader in the industry, and a formidable competitor.

Joining STV's National Buildings Group, you will work closely with national market sector leaders, area managers, and other discipline leaders to deliver comprehensive architecture, engineering, planning, and design services. Our market sectors span across aviation, corporate and commercial, education, healthcare, civic/justice facilities, and transportation hubs and stations. Under your leadership, you will mentor and lead an existing team of Architects & Engineers who specialize in Transportation Stations, Hubs & Maintenance Facilities while building strategies to expand into other untouched vertical markets across the West Coast.

What you'll be contributing to in this role:

You'll be accountable for planning and organizing the business and for making the operational decisions necessary to achieve STV's desired strategic and annual outcomes for the Area. These outcomes include targets and objectives for client relations, growth, project performance, efficiency, and talent development.

  • Representing STV with clients, the industry, and the broader community across the West Coast, particularly with strong connections within Greater Los Angeles, CA.

  • Working with STV client service team leaders to ensure STV enjoys a robust relationship with its clients.

  • Maintaining close professional relationships with key people at client, teaming partner, industry, and community organizations.

  • Creating and implementing plans that align with and achieve STV's strategic plan objectives.

  • Identifying, recruiting, and developing talent with the aim of growing the business and ensuring a strong line of succession for key leadership roles in the operation.

  • Providing effective management of STV's local business activities including selection of STV's client mix and services offering, adding new clients, winning new work, execution of projects, hiring locally based personnel, resource planning, and controlling overhead expenditure.

  • Ensuring the operation adheres to STV's policies and procedures.

  • Identifying, mentoring, and training the next generation of future leaders.

  • Analyzing and understanding client, business, and industry issues that potentially affect STV's business in the Pacific Northwest and preparing plans to position STV to capitalize on those trends.

  • Assessing performance of the STV team members and taking action to rectify any shortfalls against expectations and to recognize and promote those of exceptional ability.

  • Analyzing and reporting on business performance and implementing timely measures to address adverse outcomes to ensure financial goals are achieved.

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Experience: Have 20+ years of experience in relevant Buildings & Transportation market sectors with a proven track record in business development, operations management & have direct oversight for your own P&L / Revenue growth.

  • Educational Background: BS/MS in Architecture.

  • Professional Registration: Registered Architect in California (and preferably additional states).

  • Market Specialization: You'll be a subject matter expert in one or multiple vertical markets such as Transportation Stations & Hubs, Aviation, Corporate and Commercial, Education, Healthcare, Civic/Justice facilities.

  • Multi-Disciplinary Technical Leadership: You will be a proven leader of multi-disciplinary design teams including Project Managers, Architects, Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing Engineers.

  • Business Growth: You will enjoy being both externally and internally facing, driving new business, optimizing relationships with existing clients, leading proposals/pursuit strategies along with leading a growing team of Architects and Engineers.

Compensation Range:

$168,101.50 - $224,135.33
