Job Description

Visa Technology & Operations LLC, a Visa Inc. company, needs a Director of Engineering (multiple openings) in Austin, TX to

  • Provide direction and hands on leadership to a team of engineers engaged in application and architecture designs; development, testing and test automation for Billing Platform (includes large volume pricing, rating, billing, account receivables and revenue reporting functions).
  • Provide hands on technical and functional expertise, coaching and mentorship to improve skills across the development team and empower the team to be bolder and faster.
  • Responsible for personnel management, which includes recruitment, performance, education, training, and career growth.
  • Own the application roadmap and delivery.
  • Lead engagement with business partner to deliver projects and support systems.
  • Lead collaboration activities with business partners on requirements, workflow design, configuration, and business re-engineering.
  • Ensure "operational excellence" capabilities (Automation, Agility, Analytics, Resiliency and Monitoring) are assessed, planned and built into the platform.
  • Identify and implement opportunities in the platform that will drive improvements in performance, scalability, usability and code re-use.
  • Continue to improve business efficiencies while driving down technical debt and cost of ownership.
  • Understand complex system architectures and complex functional use cases, design and implement solutions and optimizations while ensuring that team staying current on development and test trends, methodology and standards.
  • Ensure security compliance and other NFRs are well defined and are baked into our designs and implementations.
  • Ensure quality, completeness and timeliness of all deliverables from the team.
  • Deliver transformational leadership so that the team is highly motivated and engaged.
  • Manage and track Key Performance Index (KPI) to ensure and maintain high team performance.
  • Inspire & contribute to cross-organizational teams working on various innovation projects.
  • Position reports to the Austin, Texas office and may allow for partial telecommuting.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or closely related field, followed by 8 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in an engineering-related occupation.

Additional Information

Worksite: Austin, TX

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Travel Requirements: This position does not require travel.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is $212,514.00 USD to $282,500.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for an annual bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position is eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), Employee Stock Purchase Program, FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time off and Wellness Programs.
