Main Duties & Responsibilities

This occupation requires performing manual tasks requiring moderate physical exertion, some heavy lifting, pulling, and pushing. Assist other workers in the performance of their duties, help fit parts, planish parts, setup flatbed welders, along with other various duties assigned.

  • Clean parts with Acetone prior to welding.
  • Help fit parts prior to welding. Fit all duct weldments. Work with welder.
  • Load & unload Rockwell Collins Shells & Domes
  • Planish all welds on cones, cylinders, flat sheet stock.
  • Lift and hold parts in position safely.
  • Operate a forklift and overhead crane safely.
  • Maintain a clean shop and clean welding machines
  • Remove burrs and sharp edges with the use of abrasive materials and various hand tools, such as drills, countersinks, files, scrapers and wire brushes.
  • Operate air motor driven deburring equipment using emery or crocus cloth discs and sleeves and other related abrasives. Other bench grinders and machines are also utilized.

Qualifications

* Demonstrates ability to read and write English of a level required to fulfill essential job functions.

* Able to operate an overhead crane. Must know how to use motor driven tools.

* Must be able to pass examination which qualifies you for certification in Industrial Truck Safety (forklift training) as required by CCR Title 8 Section 3668.

* Prior work experience in industry or high school shop training.

Pay Range: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour.
