The Migrations Technical Delivery Director role is part of the Snowflake Professional Services team. Our purpose is to accelerate customer adoption and drive customer business objectives. We do this through a portfolio of services, delivered by world-class consultants that leverage our leading practices, methodologies, and tools.

The Migrations Technical Delivery Director will lead our team of technical Consulting Managers and Solutions Architect Teams to deliver Snowflake Professional Services offerings, with a particular focus on large-scale data platform migrations and modernization initiatives. The successful candidate will have deep specialization in migrating on-premises and legacy database systems to modern cloud platforms. Significant experience leading complex ETL migrations, data warehouse re-platforming, and end-to-end data platform modernization is critical.

The Migrations Technical Delivery Director will develop and maintain strategies and processes to deliver best-in-class consulting and implementation services, ensuring successful customer outcomes during large-scale migration and modernization projects.

This role is 100% remote and can be based anywhere in the United States.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Delivery Readiness

  • Hire, coach, and lead the Delivery Team to meet customer goals while creating a culture of high performance, growth, and ownership, with an emphasis on developing expertise in data migration and platform modernization.

  • Build and execute a strategic and actionable Migration specific business plan that meets the Professional Services regional objectives, including revenue, consumption targets, and successful execution of large-scale migration and modernization programs.

  • Technical thought leader who can lead by example, willingness and ability to dive deep into complex technical problems and provide guidance and detailed technical solutions.

  • Create highly accurate financial forecasts for revenue, utilization, backlog burndown, and hiring goals, with particular attention to the demand generated by migration-focused engagements.

  • Lead the Delivery Team through complex engagements focused on migrating legacy databases and ETL systems to Snowflake, engaging at executive and sponsor levels on both the customer and partner sides, and act as the escalation point to facilitate collaboration, internal alignment, and customer buy-in for migration initiatives.

  • Standardize delivery across team members and the broader Professional Services organization by reviewing migration project proposals and estimates, conducting project reviews, and developing field-driven tools and accelerators that support migration and modernization efficiency.

  • Drive high levels of customer satisfaction and delivery quality, with a primary focus on successful migration outcomes and modernization achievements, as measured through post-engagement surveys and direct customer feedback.

  • Work closely with Product and Engineering teams to understand product roadmaps and inform migration strategies aligned with new Snowflake features and capabilities.

Partnering with Sales & Others

  • Collaborate with Sales Account Teams, Professional Services Sales Teams, Professional Services Leadership, Resource Management Teams, and SI/Partners to understand customer engagement needs centered around data migrations, ETL modernization, and cloud adoption.

  • Work closely with Practice Directors and Resource Management to understand services sales pipelines and proactively align staffing with upcoming migration and modernization projects.

  • Partner with the Partner Account Team to develop delivery partner strategies that scale Snowflake implementations through strong migration methodologies and consistent delivery excellence.

  • Partner with the Go-to-Market (GTM) team to identify new service opportunities related to data migration and modernization, define value propositions, develop scope, and create supporting collateral.

  • Support the GTM team by participating in key sales pursuits involving complex migration and modernization challenges, serving as a technical advisor to prospects and customers.

  • Review scope for custom Statements of Work (SOWs) for migration and modernization projects, ensuring risks, success criteria, and delivery milestones are clearly documented.

  • Drive the creation and standardization of repeatable migration frameworks and modernization solutions that can be deployed across customers within specific industries or verticals.

REQUIREMENTS:

On Day One We Will Expect You To Have:

  • 12+ years of Professional Services delivery experience, including expertise building and leading large teams, and managing, leading, and/or delivering Professional Services with accountability for financial targets (revenue, headcount, utilization, etc.).

  • Strong technical architecture and consulting experience, with a major focus on complex data migration and platform modernization initiatives throughout your career.

  • Extensive hands-on experience leading large-scale migrations from legacy on-premises systems to cloud-based platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, Synapse, or Fabric.

  • Deep understanding of ETL modernization strategies, re-platforming methodologies, and cloud data architecture patterns.

  • Experience delivering services within a consumption-based business model, across both on-premises and SaaS solutions.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage technical, cross-functional Professional Services teams (consulting, implementation, trainers, project managers) and drive quality, consistency, and efficiency, particularly in migration-driven engagements.

  • Proven ability to forecast and achieve or exceed delivery metrics (customer satisfaction, on-time delivery, utilization), especially within migration programs.

  • Experience working across the LATAM market is advantageous.

The following represents the expected range of compensation for this role:

  • The estimated base salary range for this role is $183,000 - $273,100.
  • Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Snowflake's bonus and equity plan.

The successful candidate's starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location. This role is also eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance; 401(k) retirement plan; flexible spending & health savings account; at least 12 paid holidays; paid time off; parental leave; employee assistance program; and other company benefits.
