1 year with the potential of renewal pending funding Application Window Open date: April 29, 2025 Next review date: Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Friday, May 30, 2025 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description In support of expanding research on infrastructure economics with the Center for Effective Global Action (CEGA) at the University of California, Berkeley seeks to hire three full-time post-BA Junior/Assistant Specialists for the 2025-2026 academic year. The Junior/Assistant Specialist will assist in assembling a comprehensive dataset on Department of Transportation (DOT) projects across multiple states. This dataset will be used to investigate issues such as infrastructure financing, project management, and bidding practices. We are seeking a motivated individual to assist in data collection and documentation for a range of Department of Transportation (DOT) projects. This role will involve gathering detailed information such as project IDs, locations, descriptions, complexity, bid details, contract amounts, timelines, and personnel from various sources, including government documents, websites, and engineering plans. In addition, the candidate will help prepare comprehensive documentation for each dataset variable, detailing the process of collection and creation. The position also includes supporting the creation of slide decks and other materials for working group meetings and posting these materials on the NBER website for broad dissemination. Collaboration with Cailin Slattery and other members of the research team will be essential to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and proper documentation of the data.
