Construction Inspectors to work on critical infrastructure, energy projects in remote parts of northern California. Work schedule is seasonal spring, summer and fall, with long strentches of work periods. Night shift may be included.



Responsibilities

    Observes work assigned for conformance with the approved design drawings and specifications, and other approved documents.
  • Furnishes daily inspection reports to proejct manager, and upon approval to the client, the engineer of record, and other designated persons. All discrepancies shall be brought to the immediate attention of the contractor for correction; then if uncorrected, to the proper design authority and to the building official.
  • Notifies project manager, contractor, and/or supervisor of problems and deviations from plans and specifications.
  • Provides complete and comprehensive communication with project management and other technicians to insure the effective management of the project.
  • Confirms that appropriate testing and observation services are being performed, and the field documentation is accurate, complete and available for distribution in a timely manner.


Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • minimum of 5 years Utility Infrasturcture Inspection or quality control experience, FERC projects a plus
  • Requires knowledge of construction standards and proceudures, plan reading, construiton safety, and good judgment.
  • Requires good communication skills and organization.
  • Requires good writing skills and the ability to accurately report observations and test results through clear, concise verbal and written communications.
  • Knowledge of current regulatory requirements and industry standards for the types of projects performed.
  • Effective interpersonal communications with clients, contractors, and colleagues. Demonstrated teamwork and problem-solving skills.
  • Must have valid driver's license and an insurable driving record.

The pay range for this California position is $58.00 - $72.00 per hour; however, base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
