Job Description

The Sr. Director will be a critical member of Visa's NA Product & Solutions Strategic Initiatives team, which is responsible for evaluating and driving cross-product, strategic regulatory, and new product opportunities as well as resolving complex product-related issues.

The successful candidate will be comfortable with ambiguity and leading a cross-functional team to successful outcomes. He or she must be able to quickly build relationships across all levels, understand how to swiftly determine needed course(s) of action, and know how to motivate a diverse set of stakeholders to act cohesively and productively in executing on the course of action.

The Sr. Director will:

  • Lead one or more strategic initiatives including setting the strategic vision, developing a detailed plan with concrete goals and milestones, building a cross-functional project team, and successfully executing on that plan
  • Distill ambiguous, pressing problems or opportunities into clear, cross-functional plans of action and management across multiple potential scenarios
  • Drive rigorous, fact based, quantitative and qualitative analysis to support recommendations or potential scenarios, ensuring strategic and financial soundness and alignment
  • Build out and execute on unique, creative and impactful solutions in collaboration with cross-functional partners
  • Build strong relationships with product and cross-functional partners and make sure partners remain effective and on task
  • Develop clear and concise communications at both a project team and an executive level

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA /JD/MD), or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications

15 or more years of experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 12 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, or MD), PhD with 9+ years of experience

*Experience in and/or significant exposure to the payments industry

*Equal love of and ability to set a sound strategy as to be responsible for its successful execution

*Aptitude for ramping up quickly across novel projects with little oversight and/or precedent

*Capacity to lead beyond tenure, including teams of senior stakeholders

*Ability to independently structure, lead and execute complex projects and processes, with proven leadership success over a wide variety of functional business problems and stakeholders

*Ability to discern the key pieces of information and needed next steps from a wide range of opinions and data points to keep moving a project forward

*Superior analytical and problem solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor as well as attention to detail

*Personal presence and ability to clearly communicate compelling messages to senior managers and external business partners

*Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to influence and build credibility as a peer with functional and regional leaders within Visa

*Self-starter, team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible, with excellent presentation skills, including strong oral and writing capabilities

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 204,500.00 to 296,700.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
