Work Schedule |
Attend practice and meets as well as help with the recruiting process. Practice times can vary, nights and weekends are a must. |
Basic Function |
Working under the direction of the Head Men's and Women's Swimming Coach, administer the diving segment of the men's and women's swimming and diving program and recruitment of student-athletes.
Manages, develops, and leads assigned intercollegiate athletic team. Complies with University, conference, and
NCAA regulations. Plans all aspects of the program including travel logistics, contest scheduling, budget management, recruitment, and prepares the team for competition through practice and conditioning sessions. Creates and maintains a positive and inclusive team culture focused on student athlete development and program growth. |
Essential Job Functions |
Plan, lead and manage all phases of the intercollegiate diving portion of the men's and women's
swimming and diving program under the oversight of the Head Men's and Women's Swimming Coach.
Ensure the diving program operates in a safe and an appropriate manner according to university,
conference and
NCAA regulations.
Make team selections, prepare the team for meets through practice and conditioning sessions, coach contests, prepare athletic facilities for practices and meets, and develop and apply team rules.
Recruits and identifies academically qualified and highly skilled student-athletes.
Oversees daily operations of the Men's and Women's Dive team, including schedules competitions, manages events, plans team travel, organizes practice, and manages budget.
Mentors student-athletes.
Assists Head Swim Coach with practice and competition planning. Develops training sessions for Denison athletes and provides athletes with feedback and direction.
Arranges travel plans and itineraries for the team including making hotel reservations, meals, equipment, and practice schedule.
Perform other duties as assigned. |
Minimum Qualifications |
- A Bachelor's degree.
- Minimum of 4 years of college participation experience.
- Must have a current, valid driver's license and must be insurable under Denison's liability insurance policy.
- Current certification in first aid, CPR and AED prior to coaching.
- Sound knowledge of diving with successful experience in coaching diving.

Preferred Qualifications |
Master's degree preferred.
* Successful experience in coaching diving on the college level.
* Successful and proven experience in recruiting and retaining student athletes.
* Demonstrate an understanding of
NCAA Division
III regulations regarding intercollegiate
diving.
* One year of significant and demonstrable experience |
