We are seeking a motivated and experienced Pharmacy Technician to join our dynamic team in providing comprehensive pharmacy management services. Specialty experience is not mandatory and will be part of a 6 week training module. Specialty Pharmacy Technicians at MaineHealth work within a call center performing core functions of the closed-door outpatient pharmacy: providing customer service by answering phone requests, triaging calls to the appropriate team, and coordinating care for patients taking specialty medications. Reimbursement for pharmacy technician national certification (PTCB) as well as opportunities for education and professional certifications. Continuous learning within the job (patient workload split into teams ranging through cystic fibrosis, cardiology, oncology, transplant, virology- HIV, Hep B/C, rheumatology, dermatology, gastroenterology and neurology). Key Responsibilities: - Patient Care: Deliver exceptional care by providing a full suite of custom medication management services. Engage with patients over the phone and virtually to support their medication needs. - Clinic Integration: Collaborate effectively with clinic teams, including doctors, nurses, and other staff, to ensure seamless integration and coordination of care. - Education & Support: Educate patients about our pharmacy services and how they enhance their overall care. Encourage utilization of specialty pharmacy services. - Medication Management: Monitor medication adherence, perform outbound therapy/medication adherence check-ups, and manage refill prescriptions. Address and resolve insurance-related issues, including prior authorizations and financial assistance. - Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate documentation, manage data using database applications, and participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency. - Communication: Provide timely and effective communication with the clinical care team members as well as fulfillment staff and handle inbound inquiries professionally. - Process Development: Contribute to the development of new processes to improve patient care and operational workflows, under the oversight of the Workflow Committee - Confidentiality: Ensure patient information is kept confidential and protected.
