What's new with Aptar
We have an exciting position openfor a Sales & Business Development Director - a hybrid powerhouse who thrives at the intersection of technical excellence and strategic commercial acumen. This is a global role with primary emphasis on North America and the Americas, responsible for identifying, engaging, and closing new business with pharmaceutical developers, CDMOs, and biotech innovators. You'll be a strategic hunter, technical translator, and trusted partner to clients navigating the complex world of drug stability, packaging materials, and active packaging technologies.
This is an individual contributor role with significant autonomy - ideal for a self-starter ready to lead high-impact commercial activities today and potentially build and lead a global business development team tomorrow.

- Drive new business growth with pharmaceutical and biotech companies, CDMOs, and drug developers across the Americas
Position Aptar CSP's active packaging and material science solutions as the standard for moisture and oxygen scavenging, nitrosamine mitigation, and drug stability - Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, regulatory, and operations to translate complex technical capabilities into compelling commercial value
- Lead all aspects of unlocking market opportunities, identifying commercial fit, and supporting sales in the project phase to drive it the opportunity to launch.
- Serve as a strategic thought partner to clients, understanding their formulation, packaging, and regulatory challenges - and identifying how Aptar CSP can enable success
- Actively contribute to strategic marketing, product positioning, and global expansion planning
- Represent the company at key trade shows, industry events, and technical conferences
- Lay the foundation for a scalable global BD/sales team as growth continues
What you will bring on the journey
Education
- Bachelor's degree highly desired
Experience/Skills
- Technical background in life sciences (e.g., B.S. or M.S. in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or related field)
- Business education (MBA or equivalent strategic/commercial experience)
5+ years in business development or technical sales to the pharmaceutical or CDMO sector - Experience selling complex technologies, especially in drug delivery, packaging materials, or active packaging solutions
- Strong understanding of regulatory considerations, drug development timelines, and formulation stability challenges
- Track record of winning new business and developing long-term strategic accounts
Exceptional communicator and storyteller - able to translate technical depth into business value - Self-driven, entrepreneurial, and comfortable in a fast-moving, high-growth environment
Travel Requirements:
- Willingness to travel (~30%) across North and Latin America; occasional international travel

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $165,000 - $210,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
