Accounting Manager

Manager of Operations Accounting in Woodland Hills, CA

As the Manager of Operations Accounting, you will oversee the monthly financial closing and reporting of plant operations, variance analysis,inventory accounting, and associated forecasting.

What You'll Do:

• Management: Supervise the corporate operations accounting team. Offer skill building opportunities and professional training. Create a work environment focused on accuracy, alignment, and clear communication.
• Operations Alignment: Act as the key accounting contact for the Operations teams. Provide training on accounting standards and inventory controls to plant personnel. Maintain and update procedures used by plant accounting teams.
• Operations Analysis: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual account reviews. Examine financial statements and evaluate overhead and plant variances. Complete monthly forecasts for key variances and assess inputs from the broader team.
• Operations Accounting: Oversee processes specific to operations accounting, including calculations, track overhead, manufacturing and inventory variances, purchase price variances, and review of plant prepared financials.
• Cross Functional Role: Act as a central point of contact across operational teams, internal and external auditors, general accounting, and financial reporting.
• Process Improvement:Evaluate current procedures to identify opportunities for efficiency and alignment with best practices. Ensure compliance with internal controls and SOX requirements.

What You Need to Bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Master's or CPA preferred.
• 3 or more years of supervisory experience.

• 3 or more years of cost accounting experience.
• Experience in the manufacturing or consumer products industry.
• Experience with physical inventories.
• ERP experience.
• Strong MS Excel skills and proficiency in the MS Office Suite.
