Job Description

As a Software Product Manager, you will be responsible for writing operational requirements for MiTek Kova, an ERP system used by homebuilders to address key business challenges and streamline operations. You will lead complex projects and products across a range of software solutions, managing both short-term initiatives and long-term strategic efforts.

This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to understand customer needs, prioritize solutions, and ensure successful delivery. You will also provide technical support and training on new features and functionality.

As a core member of an agile product team, you will actively contribute to sprint planning, backlog refinement, and risk assessment-working closely with software developers and quality assurance managers to guide decision-making and ensure project success.

Job Responsibilities & Requirements

Responsibilities:


  • Be the subject matter expert for assigned MiTek Kova features with an understanding of their benefits, limitations, and future potential

  • Oversee and develop user stories and requirements for projects and product needs
    Act as a product owner in Scrum teams to ensure timely and successful execution and delivery of projects, while maintaining a strong focus on quality

  • Define and track key metrics to measure the success and impact of new software solutions

  • Capable of showcasing software enhancements to stakeholders with clarity and confidence

  • Engage customers and internal stakeholders to ensure software solutions are effectively prioritized and executed

  • Work collaboratively with teams across regions, including development, QA, support, sales, and marketing


Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in a technical, engineering, or related field (other disciplines considered for exceptional candidates)

  • 2+ years of experience in product/project management, or other roles involved with the specification, development, or testing of software products

  • 2+ years of experience leveraging SQL with relational databases to analyze data and support decision-making

  • Solid foundation in software development principles and technical proficiency

  • Excellent planning, communication, presentation, and collaboration skills

  • Ability to bring clarity and order to competing priorities and unmet customer needs

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions

  • Knowledgeable of product management/software development methodologies and their applications


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Prior experience as a product manager/owner is highly preferred

  • Experience working in the homebuilding industry is desired

  • Prior experience with homebuilder ERP and accounting software is highly preferred

  • Familiarity with software development environments like C# or Visual Basic .NET is beneficial but not required
