Bank of England / Bank of England Mortgage General Intern - Part-Time Job Description Typical business work hours will vary between the hours of 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Monday through Friday. A set schedule will be made depending upon the Intern's availability. As a General Intern - Part-time, you will be expected to demonstrate a sense of urgency, willingness to work closely with others, and be part of a team whose primary focus is service to our customers. This position is a part-time, short-term position and it is not eligible for insurance, PTO or holiday benefits. This is a non-exempt position. Purpose: This position requires a motivated student or recent graduate to participate in the organization's day-to-day operations that include general office administration, accounting, marketing, and involvement in the mortgage loan process. The intern will also have exposure to all areas of the organization and the life of a mortgage loan. Essential Functions/Duties:
- Rotate to various departments within the organization to learn department specific processes and the evolution of a mortgage loan. The department rotation includes branch sales, underwriting, closing, post-closing, quality control & compliance and servicing departments.
- Depending upon the intern's college major, it can include spending additional time in accounting, IT, marketing, branch sales or Human Resources.
- Research, compile, and analyze data for a variety of administrative and departmental matters.
- Assist department personnel in assigned administrative duties, which may include the creation of spreadsheets, data input, composing email communications, copying, and filing.
- Conduct a variety of general administrative tasks as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned
General Requirements:
- Must be currently attending college or be a recent college graduate.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment i.e. computer (software programs & email), telephone systems, calculators, copiers, fax machines.
- Proficient computer skills with MS Office, Microsoft Word and Excel. Must demonstrate the ability to learn and comprehend new software that is used on a daily basis.
- Excellent customer service skills; written and oral communication skills and ability to demonstrate control, flexibility and maintain quality and high productivity when dealing with internal and external customers and changing work demand.
- Ability to multi-task and operate in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
