This position would be aligned with our office located in Chicago and would support full-time in-person/hybrid, and remote working arrangements.



Responsibilities

Our team works with global technology clients to develop innovative building products, systems, and assemblies through detailed design and productization. Our Mission Critical business development approach is expertise-based - the work of this DfMA Program Director in the Mission Critical Market will range from business development and generation of opportunities to concept development to delivery of fabrication-level designs for manufacturing. This is a comprehensive, expertise-based role.

In this role, you will work collaboratively on complex projects, providing technical design support and assisting in cross-disciplinary design efforts. You will be involved in a variety of projects, working with a diverse team of engineers, architects, product designers, contractors, manufacturers and fabricators to develop design solutions utilizing advanced construction and project delivery methods.

Essential Functions:

    Builds and enhances existing client relationships to identify and initiate additional project opportunities within the Mission Critical client base for Product Design and DfMA services.
  • Identifies and builds new client relationships that match the Mission Critical focus and aligns with the overall business strategy of the Mission Critical Market.
  • Demonstrates industry-leading expertise and represents SNHA and Woolpert as an industry leader in Product Design and DfMA services with new and existing clients.


Qualifications

  • Education: Degree in Architecture or Engineering
  • Experience: 15+ years working on complex projects, with a focus on prefabrication and/or modular design methods and delivery.
  • Strong knowledge of architectural/engineering detailing and systems, including the development and delivery of fabrication detailing for prototyping.
  • Knowledge of construction methods, processes, and building codes.
  • Knowledge of fabrication/manufacturing process and practices.
  • Experience developing detailed drawing packages.
  • Excellent collaboration skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of product design software, including at least one of the following: Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks.
  • Experience using any of the following software considered an asset: Navisworks, Dynamo, Grasshopper, Adobe Suite, Programming Languages.
  • Present a superior level of professionalism and discretion in all interactions, both internally and externally to the organization.
  • Must demonstrate the capacity to prioritize by assessing situations to determine urgency.

Travel:

  • Must be able to travel occasionally.
