Works independently and efficiently to perform a wide range of administrative and clinical support duties to meet the needs of the department, providers, and leadership team. Serves as the administrative liaison between patients, families, referring providers, and community to ensure exceptional care throughout the department. Assists with timely, efficient, and seamless transitions of care to the Sleep Medicine program.

Responsibilities
- 1. Maintains responsibility for administrative functions within clinical Sleep Study.
- 1.1 Composes correspondence on well-defined topics/content as requested.
- 2. Assembles and compiles data as directed.
- 2.1 Assembles and compiles standardized data from established sources.
- 3. Maintains responsibility for the registration process initiating and completing patient visit information in accordance with YNHH departmental protocol.
- 3.1 Collects necessary patient demographic and insurance information when completing the registration process.
- 4. Maintains responsibility for the scheduling process through accurate and prompt scheduling of patient appointments per departmental standards.
- 4.1 Schedules patient appointments by obtaining all necessary patient demographics and insurance information. Works in collaboration with the clinical team to schedule appointments according to clinical schedule, provider availability, and patient needs.
- 5. Maintains service excellence by demonstrating exemplary customer service skills for all customers including patients, families, physicians, staff, and hospital departments.
- 5.1 Functions as a clinical receptionist for the Sleep Medicine program.
- 6. Participates in initiatives and projects which contribute to exceptional patient and customer service, and staff development.
- 6.1 Participates in all Sleep Center activities including staff meetings, continued education, and ongoing workflow and process improvement activities.
Qualifications
EDUCATION High school diploma or GED required. A Bachelors degree or some business course work at the college or technical level preferred. EXPERIENCE Three (3) years administrative and/or clinical experience required, healthcare experience preferred. LICENSURE N/A SPECIAL SKILLS Excellent communication, interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills with the ability to appropriately prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment. Able to respond to unpredictable, changing situations and needs, including clinical issues within the department, with sound judgement and excellent customer service skills. Working knowledge of electronic medical record preferred.
