Job Summary:

The part time Student Support Coordinator is a grant-funded position responsible for conducting academic and individual career assessments for individuals enrolling into enrolling the Workforce Education and LifeLong Learning (WELL) Program at the Lenfest Center for Community Workforce Partnerships. As part of the Student Support and recruitment teams the candidate will assist with orientation, student records and data, and workforce and career readiness related workshops. Regularly meet with WELL participants as assigned and adhere to established stag-student boundaries. This position reports to the Assistant Program Coordinator and a bachelor's degree is required for this role. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, human relations, social work, or communications. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Related experience in psychology, human relations, social work, communications, workforce development or a related field, plus one year of related work experience is required for this position.


Required Skills & Abilities:



  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint or comparable software.
  • Demonstrated ability to counsel or coach using a strengths-based, individualized approach, especially for individuals with multiple barriers to employment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to interact with a diverse population of staff, students, and participants.
  • Demonstrated organizational, problem solving, and data management skills.
  • Ability to handle issues which are broad and complex.
  • Sitting for extended periods; prolonged exposure to computer monitors; frequent direct interaction with students, faculty, administrators, staff, etc.; must prioritize well and focus on completion of tasks and objectives while under stress of demanding work schedule, maintains a positive and objective approach and attitude even when confronted with difficult situations and constituents. Must be able to routinely travel through the City of Philadelphia. May require weekend and evening working hours.
