Description
A Brief Overview Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Accountant will work as part of the accounting team to achieve the departmental goals, applying accounting principles, that include work that is analytical, evaluative, and advisory in nature and that requires an understanding of both accounting theory and practice.
What you will do
- Gathers backup for incoming and outgoing wires.
- Records daily cash activity.
- Prepares monthly bank reconciliations.
- Prepares and records monthly interest calculations.
- Prepares monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Records monthly account receivable activity.
- Records adjusting journal entries, as necessary, to properly reflect account activity.
- Assists in preparation of wire requests.
- Prepares audit documentation as needed, including support packages and detail schedules.
- Supports and works on various special projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in accounting. Required
- or Public Accounting experience Preferred
- Minimum of two year's accounting experience Required
- LIHTC or real estate experience Preferred
- Experience with JD Edwards-Enterprise One System or other large ERP system Preferred
- Must be detail oriented and able to work within specified deadlines.
- Ability to identify problems, collect and analyze data and draw logical conclusions.
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines.
- Analytical and detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in the use of Excel and MS Office.
- Ability to pay close attention to detail, work independently.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Requires a detail orientated, independent thinker who can be a part of a team and demonstrates knowledge of accounting practices and procedures.
- Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills, particularly the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and industry professionals.
- Strong work ethic: ability to handle high volume of transactions; works well under pressure/deadlines.
- Must demonstrate strong writing skills and be eager to learn and grow.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Preferred
Compensation We are committed to offering competitive and equitable compensation. The hiring range for this position is generally between $90,000 - $95,000 (or Max if needed), exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. This position is also eligible for a performance bonus. Final salaries will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, licenses, certifications, and/or experience. In addition to these factors - we believe in the importance of pay equity. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the general Hiring Range for the role. Hiring at the top of the range is reserved for exceptionally qualified candidates. We consider internal and external factors as a part of every final offer.
