Job Summary:

The Tax Accounting Senior Consultant, working under directional supervision, leads the delivery of accurate, compliant, and complex tax deliverables. This role serves as a subject matter expert in international taxation, tax regulation, compliance, and policies. This role is responsible for the research, development, and implementation of tax policies and procedures and working closely with other departments to ensure accurate and timely deliverables. The role supports periodic reviews and internal and external audits. May manage up to two staff directly and typically provides guidance to other tax accounting staff in delivering the objectives of the tax department.

Job Responsibilities:


  • Ensures the accuracy and completeness of financial deliverables and directly prepares the most complex tax returns, tax filings, and account reconciliations.
  • Conducts analysis on emerging issues and develops tax accounting policies and practices to ensure compliance with evolving regulations, laws, and industry standards (requires knowledge of SAP and GAAP accounting developments and procedures).
  • Provides expertise to other departments to support business decisions, provide financial guidance and support, and promote a collaborative and communicative work environment.
  • Works on quarterly and annual GAAP and statutory income tax provisions and annual financial statement presentation.
  • Contributes to the preparation and review of regulatory filings, including premium and tax reports, and ensures compliance with GAAP and company standards as well as federal and global regulations.
  • Prepares and provides financial data for external and internal audits, responds to audit inquiries, and makes recommendations to senior management on ways to improve financial processes and controls.
  • Participates in various financial projects and initiatives, including system implementations, process improvements, and other strategic initiatives, and provides leadership and guidance to project teams.
  • Provides training and mentorship to staff and senior level employees and supports their professional development and growth within the organization.
  • May have accountability for direct management of up to two employees, which includes navigation of employee related issues that impact morale and work environment to ensure a high performing team including hiring and selection, succession planning, performance and compensation management, and employee development and career coaching as required. Manages priorities and workload distribution and removes barriers that impede progress.


Job Qualifications:


  • 10+ years of experience in Tax, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • International taxation experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Economics, or a related field and/or commensurate experience.

Licenses and Certifications:


  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) (Preferred)
  • Accredited Tax Advisor (ATA) (Preferred)
