Job Summary: Reporting to the executive director, facilities and real estate, this position will coordinate with operations and site directors in the management and oversight of new construction and remodel projects. It will assist with approving a final construction budget and reviewing cost related change orders prior to approval from the vice president of Finance. The position will coordinate with teams of trade persons that perform work related to construction, renovation, maintenance and repairs for electrical and HVAC related work. In addition, this position is responsible for coordinating college-wide master planning, deferred maintenance planning, implementation of energy and other facility-related cost savings and sustainability initiatives, along with development and updating of college-wide facilities standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree and 5 years experience or a combination of experience and education sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

Licensing Requirements: Valid driver's license.

Hiring Range: $61,173 - $77,996

  • Manage construction projects collegewide; assist in the oversight of the real estate/facilities planning process; manage the design and construction process, while coordinating with the respective director, site operations and director, business operations, to achieve project execution; responsible for pre-construction through final certificate of completion and/or punch list completion. - (Essential)
  • Coordinate teams of trade persons that perform construction, renovation, maintenance and repairs related to construction projects. - (Essential)
  • Coordinate with respective site and operations directors, and capital asset analyst on the budgeting of all projects (soft and hard costs) from initial pre-construction, through final project cost analysis for small projects handled internally by the College. - (Essential)
  • Provide oversight for renovation of existing structures as well as new construction for small projects handled internally by the College. - (Essential)
  • Coordinate with respective director, site operations, to ensure all permits are obtained for internally led projects. - (Essential)
  • Assist in the planning and direction of the facilities plan for the College. - (Essential)
  • Coordinate with respective director, site operations, to ensure the Guide for Architects and Engineers is maintained and up-to-date. - (Essential)
  • Collaborate with all other necessary divisions/departments to develop goals and objectives for capital spending to support the overall strategic plan of the College. - (Essential)
  • Create and maintain a capital plan for construction projects to include detailed work plans/schedules, and corresponding expense forecasts. - (Essential)
  • Monitor and report on key construction industry trends that may affect the College. - (Essential)
  • Assist in reviewing the policy governing business conduct concerning contract negotiation and project management; negotiates construction contracts. - (Essential)
  • Represent the College in an "owners representative" capacity at all construction projects. - (Essential)
  • Embrace and uphold equity policies of the College; assist in building and maintaining an inclusive workplace. - (Essential)
  • Travel to multiple locations will be required. - (Essential)
