What You'll Do in This Position Purpose of Position Participants will be enrolled in a Registered Youth Apprenticeship Program for approximately 1 to 2 years to foster skill attainment in basic financial planning and analysis functions and earn a nationally recognized and portable credential through the Department of Labor. Under direct supervision, Youth Apprentices will receive on-the-job training and observe finance professionals perform routine planning, analysis, and support functions. The Youth Apprentice will work toward being able to perform these functions without supervision. The Youth Apprentice will be mentored on an approved list of finance tasks with the goal to become proficient in each. These tasks focus on: * CFO general employee knowledge * Finance Operating Systems * Financial Planning and Analysis * Operational Procedures * Safety, communications, and procedure compliance Additional work will be assigned as the Youth Apprentice demonstrates the ability to handle more complex tasks. The work schedule will be flexible and based around the Youth Apprentice's academic schedule. The Youth Apprentice may work up to 40 hours per week during school breaks. The Youth Apprentice may only work when adult supervision is available. This position is not eligible for telework.
Major Responsibilities Under direct supervision, learn to perform basic financial analysis activities, which include, but are not limited to: - Collect data, input updates and prepare detailed financial schedules and analysis. - Assist in performing budget versus actual analysis, identifying variances and documenting causes. - Perform account reconciliations, research unexpected items and resolves inaccuracies. Propose and record journal vouchers. - Provide administrative services in addition to assisting senior personnel in the development of budgets, reports and assigned activities. - Ensure that all work performed adheres to SRNS policies and procedures. - Proactively communicate and coordinate with others to provide support for assigned tasks - Other duties as assigned
Security Clearance Information SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Factors such as pre-employment background review results, dual citizenship status, and unpaid and/or unfiled taxes may impact your ability to obtain a security clearance. This list of factors is not exhaustive; pre-employment information and security clearance requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
Qualifications We Require Rising HS Junior or Senior in pursuit of diploma
Other Qualifications * U.S. Citizen. * Shall be at least 16 years of age. * Must successfully complete Savannah River Site General Employee Training and substance abuse processing. * Must possess a driver's license with their own transportation (required by hire date) * Unofficial transcripts are required and must be uploaded into BrassRing before the posting closes
