What You'll Do in This Position This position is an individual contributor to the security program which provides policy, plans, procedure, oversight and technical support for the programs designed to protect site security interests, such as classified matter, nuclear material and government property.
Safety is a primary responsibility in each job performed. Obtain safety training, obey safety rules. and make safety an integral part of each task. Take the necessary steps to stop work if continuing the job is unsafe or will create an unsafe conditions. In this position the incumbent may be responsible for the development of safeguards and security plans, memorandum of understandings, deviations, start-up plans and D&D plans. They will serve as a physical security point of contact for organization. Perform safeguard and security assessments to ensure that organization is compliant with DOE Orders, and company policies and procedures. Develop corrective actions for non-compliances found during assessments. Coordinate compensatory measures with protective force, provide response and tracking of corrective action control plans and track progress for all deficiencies. Provide area specific liaison and coordination activities with protective force, to include Zone Operations, Special Operations, Law Enforcement and Planning for organizational facilities and/or programs. Coordinate organizational support and/or activities for all Force on Force exercises, limited scope performance test, changes in access control, VIP tours and follow up to daily activity reports. Act as point of contact for work request/site clearances and monitor the nature of the work to ensure compliance with the security aspect of the work.
* The candidate's primary role will be to perform DC/RO reviews for incoming and outgoing SRPPF transmittals to ensure proper classification and protection of sensitive information. * Utilize approved guidance to ensure proper classification and subsequent protection of document, computer systems, and other nuclear-related items of importance of national security. * Ensure proper classification and subsequent protection of documents, computer systems, and other nuclear related items of importance to national security, originated or controlled by SRNS and subcontract organizations prior to release of such items for widespread distribution and public release of such items for widespread distribution and public release. * Respond to request for technical support and provides guidance and oversight to field organizations to ensure proper and use of classification guidance. * Provide technical support and interpretative guidance for DC/ROs and answer questions from other site personnel. * Ensure compliance with DOE orders and manuals, federal regulations, and company policies and procedures. * Maintain proficiency and knowledge of the current classification guidance in order to conduct derivative classifier actions in support of SRNS operations.
Security Clearance Information SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Factors such as pre-employment background review results, dual citizenship status, and unpaid and/or unfiled taxes may impact your ability to obtain a security clearance. This list of factors is not exhaustive; pre-employment information and security clearance requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Other Qualifications * Experience with nuclear materials handling/processing * Experience as a DOE derivative classifier. * Ability to attain and maintain a Q level security clearance.
Qualifications We Desire College degree and relevant experience preferred. Military experience in areas such as military police, alarm assessment, access control, law enforcement preferred. Applies basic concepts and principles to produce solutions to technical problems in a conventional nature. Knows and uses well the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of a particular field of specialization. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and be able to use a personal computer for word processing.
