BE PART OF THE CONNECTION As an Engineer within our Inside Plant team, you'll troubleshoot, support and maintain Spectrum's network. You'll also be a critical part of cross-functional communication to support product deployment, maintenance, and TQA and FCC compliance. WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO SPECTRUM Required Qualifications * Experience: Four (4) years Headend Technician or electronics / network implementation experience. * Education: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer science or related field, and/or equivalent work experience. * Certifications: Valid Certifications from the Society of Cable Telecommunication Engineers (SCTE) BTS (Broadband Transport Specialist) & BDS (Broadband Distribution Specialist) to be obtained within 6 months from start date. * Technical Skills: Knowledge of Critical Systems such as HVAC, Powering and Generators as well as RF and IP technologies, HFC design, as well as optical test equipment (such as OTDR, Optical Spectrum Analyzer, Fiber Light Identifier, Optical Fiber Scope and Optical Power Meter), Video Networking, IP & DOCSIS/CMTS. * Skills: Can troubleshoot communication architectures, topologies, hardware, software, transmission and signaling links and protocols. * Abilities: Ability to work while standing 50-70% of the time and to lift up to 50 lbs with or without assistance. * Work Environment: Work in a 24x7, fast paced environment; work indoors with exposure to continuous moderate noise near power systems. Must be able to work and travel in inclement weather and participate in an on-call rotation schedule.
