PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is $96,900.00-$118,400.00 annually. The full Pay Range is $75,500.00 - $139,800.00 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

Employees have access to disability and AD&D insurance. We also offer health care and dependent care flexible spending accounts, as well as health savings accounts, to eligible employees. Employees are able to enroll in our company's 401k plan and employer-funded retirement plan. Newly hired employees accrue 6.16 hours of paid time off (PTO) on a per pay period basis based on hours worked (up to a maximum of 160 PTO hours per year) and receive ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. IMPACT YOU'LL MAKE:

As the Manager, Collection & Recovery Support, you'll be at the center of strengthening BECU's recovery and resolution strategies. You'll lead a high-performing team, oversee critical support services like charge-offs and loan modifications, and ensure operations run smoothly and in alignment with our values. Your leadership will help members navigate tough financial moments with dignity while improving internal efficiencies and processes. You'll have the chance to shape policies, build collaborative partnerships, and support BECU's mission to improve the financial well-being of our members.

**This role is hybrid, with three days per week onsite at our Tukwila, WA headquarters and two days remote from home.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Lead with Purpose: Manage and mentor a team responsible for key support services, including charge-offs, loan modifications, and debt management plans.
  • Be the Go-To Resource: Act as a primary escalation point for complex cases, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Stay Legally Savvy: Maintain expert-level knowledge of state and federal laws related to collections, bankruptcy, and asset recovery.
  • Optimize Operations: Recommend and implement process improvements and policies that boost efficiency and outcomes in the recovery space.
  • Keep a Pulse on Performance: Create, analyze, and maintain operational reports, production metrics, and staffing forecasts to support strategic decisions.
  • Ensure Process Clarity: Oversee the creation and maintenance of clear documentation and procedures for all team functions, updating them regularly.
  • Grow and Develop Talent: Provide regular coaching and feedback, facilitate training opportunities, and conduct timely performance reviews using BECU's core competencies.
  • Support Cross-Team Success: Collaborate with other departments and leaders to align on goals and ensure member-focused outcomes.
  • Pitch In Where Needed: Take on additional responsibilities that support the team's and organization's success.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Typically requires at least 4 or more years of experience in collections
  • Typically requires at least 1 year of experience in a leadership or supervisory role

Desired qualifications:

  • Experience in collections, loss mitigation, bankruptcy, foreclosure, insurance claims processing and debt management program
  • Prior experience supervising within a financial institution/credit union environment
  • Leadership and negotiation skills
